Allow Plus Character in Email Address

My email is someemail@gmail.com but for job hunting purposes and filtering, I am using someemail+app@gmail.com as my email address. Simplify does not allow me to use this for autofill even though it is in my resume and this can lead to confusion when applying to jobs. Could the plus character be supported in email addresses?
