The required fields changes from application to application, so I either underuse the extension by only filling in a couple of fields like name and email or I fill in all fields (that are mostly require across applications) and then remove the non “required” ones. This defeats the purpose of simplify

Would love to understand this a bit more — 99% of our feature requests are for filling out more fields, not less. What’s wrong with what Simplify filling out right now?

For multiple reasons. From a product perspective, filling out only the minimum required fields means I spend less time on each application and potentially have fewer errors to fix later. On the hiring side, asking for only the absolutely necessary info to submit limits the data candidates initially share, which is preferable for different reasons like scams, providing less upfront, and resume testing.

What type of fields do you not want filled out? You can already control most of this via settings:
Click the gear icon in the top right of the extension popup
Scroll down to the “Fields to Autofill” section
Untoggle any fields you don’t want Simplify to fill automatically

for each job application, it would be an improvement if the extension can determine which fields are required usually marked with a red star and only fill those in. Since the “required” fields changes per application, I currently have to do what I said in the first comment of this thread, with what you suggested. Making the extension useless in my case.
for example, in some applications the “Linkedin Profile” is required but in the picture below it isn’t. “how did you hear about this job” is required because it has the red star though.
So I would like it not to fill in the “Linkedin Profile” even though there is an option to. Currently, I have to turn off “Linkedin Profile” Autofill and then go back manually and push the button each time it is required

Sometimes when a job application asks me for a salary expectations, that could either be optional or mandatory. I prefer not filling that if it’s optional.
