profile age

Why can’t i delete my age to not show in profile? It seems I need to select a calendar date to populate in. Its not a required field. Please remove my age from here or change the functionality and let users to remove age. I delete the data but it just comes back cause it needs a calendar date input to save. I should be able to remove with blank field and continue.
