Firefox Addon not available

Hey! Unfortunately, Firefox is being a major PITA and has been consistently removing the Simplify Add-on from the store every other week for entirely bogus reasons.

We don't have an ETA on when this will be resolved, as we are entirely dependent on the Mozilla team. If you want to use Simplify Copilot today, the best option would be a Chromium browser

We’ve talked about it internally today and we’re seriously considering discontinuing the extension from the Mozilla store.

This isn’t a decision we take lightly, but working with Mozilla has been nothing short of exhausting. It’s a constant uphill battle. Firefox accounts for less than 2% of our user base, yet somehow chews up over 75% of our extension approval bandwidth. That kind of imbalance would be frustrating under any circumstances, but it’s made worse by how consistently painful the process is.

The Mozilla Add-ons team, frankly, has been one of the most difficult groups we’ve ever dealt with. There’s this bizarre gatekeeping energy to them—as if they’re clinging to some kind of moral high ground that no one asked for. The communication is slow, the review process is opaque, and feedback often feels arbitrary or performative rather than productive. You’d think they were curating a national archive instead of an extensions library.

It’s no wonder their ecosystem is stagnating. The arrogance doesn’t match the platform’s relevance. While they play bureaucratic games, real developers trying to ship useful tools are left spinning their wheels. It’s disheartening when the cost of trying to support a dying platform outweighs any conceivable benefit to actual users.

On the bright side, we’re moving forward. A Safari extension is coming soon—so iOS and macOS users will have a clean, modern way to use us via the App Store. And of course, our Chrome extension continues to be live and thriving. We’ll keep supporting the platforms that respect our time and our users.
